Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has said that the club will not be breaking the strict structure when it comes to wages even if they are going to lose star striker Robin van Persie.

The 28-year-old Dutchman is going to enter into his final year of his contract. As a result, a number of clubs including the likes of Manchester City and Juventus are being linked with the striker. It is thought that Manchester City are ready to pay around £ 200,000 per week for the striker, while Arsenal are not prepared to go beyond £ 130,000 per week. Due to this situation, robin van persie

Even though many have criticised the decision by Arsenal not to increase the offer for the Dutchman, chairman Peter Hill-Wood has said that the club will not be breaking the bank in order to sign any player. They have been largely helped by the move to the 60,000 seater Emirates stadium, although the transfer policy of the club also needs to be credited. Peter Hill-Wood has said that there will not be any change in the policy just to keep Robin van Persie.

“He is vital to us and has been an extremely good captain. But if somebody comes along and offers Robin £250,000 a week then I am afraid we cannot compete with that. With players, you never know what they are going to do, but we have plenty of good players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere. Some players say they want silverware but when they have the chance to earn ­extraordinary money that has been pumped into the game, then you just have to hope they will stay ­because they are happy and loyal where they are,” Hill-Wood told The Sun.
